Align Wellness Solutions utilizes a mix of techniques to help efficiently train your brain to meditate. From ancient breathing practices and guided meditations to neurotherapy and biofeedback, come jump start your meditation practice with individual sessions. Read on for more info about what to expect from these sessions.
This type of neurotherapy utilizes audio and visual stimulation on different frequencies. In my practice, this looks like you lying on a massage table with headphones and a set of glasses on. When our brains are exposed to these stimuli, our brain waves will sync up with the frequencies its presented with. If you have used meditation tracks online with underlying binaural beats, then you have experienced the audio piece of this type of neurotherapy. We will be presenting audio and visual stimuli at frequencies that match the brain frequencies common in meditation. This will allow your brain to experience what meditation feels like, and also make it easier for you to achieve this state on your own. Biofeedback - Heart Rate Variability
Align Wellness Solutions utilizes HeartMath’s heart rate variability software to assist clients in learning when they are moving more towards or away from a coherent state. Heart rate variability and coherence are measures that can indicate when we are in a more meditative state. Basically, this technology helps clients new to meditation learn when they are “doing it right.” I like to utilize this technology in my beginning meditation instruction because meditation can be an intimidating skill and practice to begin, and I like to provide clients with feedback and a rewarding experience as soon as possible! Guided Meditations and Pranayama
In conjunction with the technologies above, we will also begin to incorporate pranayama (ancient breath practices) and custom guided meditations so that you can learn to regulate your central nervous system and achieve a meditative state on your own, without the use of technology!
